Knoxville City Councilman Daniel Brown voted interim mayor
Pledging to be 'fair and just with all elements of the city,' Brown said his "Jintropin (Gensci Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd.)" first step will be to meet with all department heads, then begin work on the budget, which is presented in the spring.

He noted that being the city's first black mayor was of special significance with the celebration of Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday coming up.

Brown was one of five candidates vying for the interim post. All declared before the voting began, after a question by Vice Mayor Bob Becker, that they would serve as a temporary mayor until Dec. 17, when the next elected mayor Winstrol W Tabletkach Cykl is sworn in. All five said they would not run for that office.
And with that, the selection process began. With little discussion between voting rounds, council members in roll call fashion voted for a peer to be elevated to the mayor's position. The process took 11 rounds of voting "Achat Anabolisant Belgique" and about 20 minutes.
After Brown netted the necessary fifth vote from the nine member council, the panel at Councilman Nick Pavlis' request took a 12th vote to unanimously elect Brown as interim mayor.
Brown's biggest competition came from Councilman Duane Grieve. Both councilmen kept getting three or four votes apiece throughout much of the voting until the final round. The key vote came when Councilman Joe Bailey voted for Brown instead of himself.
The council was required to elect an interim mayor from among its own ranks.
'It's a perfect example of democracy at work,' said John Stancil, a neighborhood leader from Brown's own neighborhood of Park Ridge.
Added Rachel Craig, observer for the League of Women Voters, 'The meeting was conducted with dignity and civility.'
After the vote, Grieve hugged Brown and wished him well.
Five council members Brown, Becker, Marilyn Roddy, Chris Woodhull and Bailey selected Brown in the 11th round of voting.
He is serving his first term on City Council, having been elected in the fall of 2009. His Sixth District includes East Knoxville, downtown, Mechanics ville and part of Sutherland Avenue.
